I was actually quite intrigued by the book Buddylove: A Buddhist’s Guide to Self-actualization, which is due out in November. It’s a slim book, but it does cover a lot, including meditation, mindfulness, and how these practices can be put to use in everyday life. Plus, with buddylove.
I recently read Buddylove, and it was a lot of fun. The book is a collection of essays by a variety of Buddhist teachers, each of which talks about the practical application of mindfulness in their own life and how it may relate to other topics. It covers a lot of ground, from how to meditate to how to cook, how to handle stress without getting all philosophical, and how to get along with your parents.
I have to admit a little bit of a bias for mindfulness-based self-help books since I’m a big fan of them myself. I have read a lot of books on the topic over the years, and I think I really like the approach of most of them. But this book is a bit different because it is written for a lay audience, and doesn’t really focus on meditation or on how to practice it.
The book is a compilation of tips on how to deal with stress in a more effective way. There’s a lot of advice on how to lower it, what to do if it gets too stressful, what you can do to help yourself with it, and what it means for your life. It’s not an attempt to get you to meditate or to get you into a “happy” state of mind, but more of a way of putting into practice what you know about how to handle stress.
Some of the advice is very clear and easy. What I took away from it is that the whole point of stress is that it is a threat that you can’t overcome. You can’t change your environment to a place where you are relaxed and in a good place, so you have to change yourself. You have to change your habits and the way you think and the way you react to things. I think that this book will help you to figure out how to do that.
